Tofu Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Tofu
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil for Coating
  • 1 Tbsp Oil for frying
  • 1 Tbsp Barbeque Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • Pinch of Black Pepper Powder
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt to Taste

Steps

  1. Drain the tofu and press it lightly between paper towels to remove excess water. Cut the tofu into small cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 Tbsp of olive oil, 1 Tbsp of barbeque sauce, 1 Tbsp of garlic powder, 1 Tbsp of onion powder, a pinch of black pepper powder, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients together until well combined.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and toss to coat the tofu evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. For a stronger flavor, marinate for longer.
  4. Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated tofu cubes to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Stir occasionally to ensure that all sides of the tofu are cooked evenly.
  5. Cook 2 cups of white rice according to package instructions.
  6. Serve the tofu over the white rice and garnish with some chopped green onions or cilantro, if desired.

Enjoy!
